Pioneer Sustainable Agriculture is an Organic Hibiscus Producer in Africa. The Hibiscus flower is native to Africa, and produces tea that is bright red in colour and packed with fruity flavors. It has historically been used in East, North Africa and Iran to decrease body temperature, treat heart disease and sooth a sore throat and to treat high blood pressure.  Unlike other teas, does not contain any caffeine.

Helps Heart Function

Just 1 cup (5 g) of hibiscus can give us 6% of our recommended daily intake of Vitamin B1. This contributes to our heart function, energy creation & maintenance of our our mental and emotional state.

Helps the Immune System

1 cup of Hibiscus gives us 4% of our recommended daily Iron. This contributes to our immune system, cell division, red blood cell formation and reduction of tiredness & ability to process information.

Anti-Cancer Properties

Hibiscus contains hibiscus protocatechuic acid, which has antitumor and antioxidant properties. A study suggests that hibiscus may slow down the growth of cancerous cells specifically human leukemia cells by inducing apoptosis; commonly known as programmed cell death.

Antibacterial Agent

In addition to having antioxidant and anticancer properties, some studies have found that hibiscus could help fight bacterial infections. Hibiscus plants loose leaf tea is rich in Vitamin C. The extract of Hibiscus fights 8 strains of bacteria and in concentrate form could be as effective as some medications used to treat bacterial infections.

May help Lower Blood Pressure

Several studies have found that Hibiscus tea may lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure due to it being a good source of anthocyanins. Because of its antii inflammatory properties it has the potential to reduce blood pressure by up tp 10 points (according to a research done in Boston)

Help in Weight Loss

Hibiscus can be beneficial for weight loss. Studies have suggested that hibiscus extract lowers the absorption of starch and glucose the two dietary components that can lead to weight gain and may help aid in weight loss

Lowers Cholesterol

Hibiscus helps to lower the levels of (bad) LDL cholesterol from the body, thereby helping to protect against heart diseases and protecting blood vessels from damage.
